About Me
Modern Medicine Saves Lives Every Day

I have had diabetes my entire life, and I am very thankful for the fact that modern medical discoveries have helped me live a happy, healthy life despite my disease. I have had to watch what I eat and take medications daily for most of my life, and while i used to feel like I was "missing out" when other children were able to eat sugary candy and I wasn't, I eventually learned that sugar-free candy tastes great. I am always keeping up on the latest diabetes research, and while researching, I have also learned about many other diseases and ailments and how they are treated and controlled. I know others are too busy to browse a bunch of medical websites, like I like to do, so I decided to start a blog that others can visit that contains information on a variety of medical topics all in one place!

Crank up the tunes

Music has the ability to improve our mood and make us feel more energetic. Try playing some upbeat music while completing your household chores or walking on the treadmill. Sing and dance along to really get your heart pumping.

Have a dance party

Nothing lifts your mood after a long, hard day like dancing your stress away. Get the whole family involved and you'll be getting a great workout, all while spending time together having fun. Make it a weekly or nightly event, and encourage your kids to help keep you on track.

Make it a race

Challenge a gym buddy to see who can burn the most calories in a certain amount of time, or see if you can beat your spouse to the mailbox. Adding a little competition can make just about anything more enjoyable, and motivates you to hurry. This gets your blood pumping and burns more calories that you would have by simply completing the task at a leisurely pace.

Just play

Play catch or teach your kids how to do a cartwheel. Invite some friends over for a pick-up game of basketball or touch football. Enter a city-wide scavenger hunt. Play Marco Polo in the pool. There are numerous ways to play with friends or your kids and get some exercise. Just find what's interesting to you and give it a try!

Exercise doesn't have to be boring and repetitive. Anything that gets you moving more than you would have is exercise.
