About Me
Modern Medicine Saves Lives Every Day

I have had diabetes my entire life, and I am very thankful for the fact that modern medical discoveries have helped me live a happy, healthy life despite my disease. I have had to watch what I eat and take medications daily for most of my life, and while i used to feel like I was "missing out" when other children were able to eat sugary candy and I wasn't, I eventually learned that sugar-free candy tastes great. I am always keeping up on the latest diabetes research, and while researching, I have also learned about many other diseases and ailments and how they are treated and controlled. I know others are too busy to browse a bunch of medical websites, like I like to do, so I decided to start a blog that others can visit that contains information on a variety of medical topics all in one place!

3 Ways To Say Goodbye To Brow Wrinkles And Sagging Brows

For Content

As you age, you may begin to notice forehead wrinkles, some of which are only noticeable during facial expressions. In severe cases, the skin near your brow may also sag and begin to encroach on your eyes. There are several strategies to address wrinkles and/or sagging brown skin.

Deep Exfoliation

There are several methods that can provide deep exfoliation on your forehead and reduce or eliminate wrinkles. The easiest options include either a chemical peel or laser skin resurfacing. Both methods are designed to remove the upper layer of skin and reveal fresh skin that may be undamaged. Depending on the option you choose, you may be limited in the number of sessions you can have. For example, deep peels are done infrequently, otherwise they can cause significant burns or other damage to the skin that would be counterproductive. If your wrinkles are not especially deep, a gentler peel may be an option.

Botox

Botox injections can be helpful for wrinkles that tend to appear during expressions. If your forehead is otherwise smooth when your face is in a resting position, Botox can paralyze some of the forehead muscles that are responsible for causing lines. Although the effects of Botox are temporary and you may need to have injections a couple of times per year to maintain the results, over time, you may see fewer expression lines on your forehead. Another benefit of Botox is it can be used in conjunction with other non-invasive treatments, such as deep exfoliation methods. Exfoliation can be used to tackle residual lines that occur at rest, whereas Botox can tackle lines that form during movement.

Brow Lift

A brow lift is the most invasive strategy used to eliminate forehead wrinkles because it involves surgery. The procedure is ideal if you have additional concerns beyond forehead wrinkles, such as sagging that causes your brows to droop. In some instances, significant brow drooping can also obstruct vision, making surgery necessary to correct the problem. There are several approaches that can be used during a brow lift, such as an endoscopic approach, which limits the incisions made. A standard approach makes a larger incision, but it is concealed within the hairline. The skin is tightened so the forehead has a smoother appearance and any sagging is eliminated. Within a few weeks, the results will be apparent.

Forehead wrinkles can make you look older, especially if the area is also sagging. Fortunately, there are several methods to reduce forehead wrinkles, and in some instances, eliminate them. For more information, contact doctors like William M. Parell, MD, PSC.
